This is Mary Wright, the cleaning lady of the Smith Museum. She was locked in the bathroom while the dragon ruby was being stolen.
Interview of witness Mary Wright - janitor:
officer- “What were you doing when the robbery occurred?”
janitor- “I was finishing cleaning the women’s bathroom when all of the sudden I heard the lock to the door click.”
officer- “What did you hear at this time?”
janitor- “I heard two men speaking in the exhibit area when I heard glass shatter. I also heard the security guards voice. I remember it from him being here so many times.”
officer- “When the glass shattered, did the alarm to the Dragon Ruby go off?”
janitor- “No, it didn’t, but the security guard was the only one with access to the security room where the switch to the alarm is.”
officer- “How many people did you hear outside of the bathroom?”
janitor- “I heard two men, but then I heard a third man’s voice say, “Whats going on here.” I think it was the other security guard. Shortly after the second security guard came in I heard a thud and then an object hit the ground.”
officer- “Thank you, that will be all ma’am. Have a nice day.”
